A recent study compared three groups of individuals. One groups ate a balanced breakfast (whole grain cereal, fruit, yogurt). One group drank coffee and one group had nothing at all. Here is what the study found:
- those who skipped breakfast had the lowest energy and scored the worst on memory tests.
- those who drank coffee had better energy but still scored poorly on memory tests.
- the breakfast eaters reported the best mood, energy and memory scores.
