Spirited Resilience
All of us will be celebrating a birthday this year. With mine just around the corner this month I am examining my beliefs about how I will wear my age inside and out in the year to come. I have always embraced my birthdays with both gratitude for being alive to experience the anniversary and with the excitement for putting the things I have learned in the past year into action to better live their lessons in the coming year. With all that we know about our behaviors and beliefs, what will you do this year to express your life and your well-being? In reflection of the past and with inspiration for the future I intend to use my body, which I like to refer to as my recreational vehicle, also known as my “CAR,” to live with these pearls of wellness wisdom:
C- Creativity: Remembering to play is a key to longevity and well-being. Many individuals notice how doing the same exercise program day in and day out will eventually lead to a plateau where the body doesn’t respond with as great results as it once did doing the same workout. The same holds true with many of the wellness rituals in which we engage, be it diet, exercise or even in the way we relate to others. For growth to happen and progress to be made, we need the creative flow of courage and a desire to stretch ourselves. Look at your present plan and see where you can “paint outside the lines” and bring some new energy to the experience. With your eating plan, simply look to what is in season and do your part to eat what is fresh and local. Add something fresh and healthy to your diet that you have never had before and then turn someone else on to it. Look at your daily rituals with new eyes and see where you can add new life and passion to your present plan. What can be done to bring a sense of gratitude to the upkeep of your relationships? Choose to creatively approach your life like an artist approaches a canvas to paint a masterpiece-. What would you paint your life to be if you were believing that this painting was to be your best work?
A- Authenticity: Every day we are given the opportunity to know our true self better. As living expressions of the One we are full of the vast, pure potentiality of the divine. What a great place to start thinking about our well-being. We can feel more connected with the Source when we create a healthier connection to our self care. Find the movement that truly supports you, create a daily ritual that reflects a genuine feeling of wholeness coupled with invigoration. Exercise can be a means of Divine expression. The sooner that you decide and dedicate to a daily movement practice that is aligned with your soul purpose, the sooner you will advance along the path of greater wholeness and well-being. Life flows gracefully through a body that is in tune with its authentic expression.
R- Responsibility: We are response-able to create what we desire to experience; what makes us happy, most alive and most effective. That is, we have choices in the way we respond to life each and every day. I love knowing that I am response-able with what I eat, how I exercise, and I know that living with this response-able belief clears the way for putting my life energy into building what I desire. You are the author of your life’s story. You have full rights to script in detail all that you are responsible for and share this story to inspire the world around you. You can choose to see responsibility as a blessing in that you are able to go about leading your life from a place of co-creation. Living from this knowing you are free to look beyond appearances and go about the work of exercising willingness over will power, building a life according to your highest aspirations.
Today and all year long look for the opportunity to express your authenticity by living true to you. Take your “CAR” for a drive and choose to be fully present and awake to experience the flow of being really alive and well. Open to the Divine creative and allow for the birth of new rituals, relationships and intentions. Take full responsibility for your life with enthusiasm. Realize that you are fully empowered to transcend the limited and experience the life that you have been ordained to lead with purpose, passion and possibility. Make everyday a birth-day!

Being able to stand back from the fray and realize I volunteered to be part of the choas is a startling fact. To further recognise I can ‘paint’ the picture of my world had been forgotten. Instead of reaction, it will be my purpose to plan and recognise my environment is my own making.
Thanks
